Route 3
An Alternative Route to Nantwich
This route to Nantwich makes a diversion from the direct road, to pass by a little known Cold War relic. A visit to this relic is recommended, enquire locally for opening times.
Directions
Proceed right from the Dusty Miller through Wrenbury village.
Turn right into Wrenbury Heath road, sp Sound & Broomhall.
Proceed ahead at a staggered cross roads sp Nantwich
Turn right onto the A530, then immediately left into Heatley Lane.
Turn left immediately after the farm into an unnamed narrow lane.
Follow this lane left after a long straight, and cross the canal.
The Cold War relic, the Secret Bunker, is on the right after the canal.
Turn right after leaving the Bunker, (or proceed ahead if not visiting)
Turn left at the T junction & proceed to the A530.
Turn right onto the A530 and enter Nantwich via Shrewbridge Road, after passing the lake.
Leave Nantwich by crossing the River Weaver into Welsh Row and proceed to Queens Drive
Turn left into Queens Drive, and follow the signs to Wrenbury across the canal.
At Ravensmoor, route 1 is joined for the remainder of the way to Wrenbury
